Multiphase flows are increasingly present in powertrain applications. The simulation for predicting the interactions (mechanical, thermal and chemical) between two or more phases is quite challenging and an advanced numerical task. For the successful product design, it is important to obtain qualitative and quantitative information about the complex flows. Different approaches can help by investigating flows of materials with different states or phases (i.e. gas, liquid or solid) or materials with different chemical properties but in the same state (i.e. oil droplets in water). The simpulseday Multiphase Flows in Powertrain Applications will show latest developments and will offer space for the discussion of future challenges. The aim is to share expertise and to bring science and industry in dialog to think about the potential of new ans improved simulation methods. During an interactive session future challenges and new project ideas will be discussed and presented to the audience.

Taking into consideration the future challenges of virtual vehicle development and your daily business do you think there is still a lack of simulation methods, processes or scope for improvement? You like to advance new and potential solutions in a quick and efficient way (financial and technical) together with other competence partners from science and industry within the asc(s network? Then take this chance for you and your organisation to present and discuss your project idea.
Project Appetizers can deal with one or more of the following aspects in the field of multiphase flows
