2nd Fireside Talk

[exclusive for asc(s members and invited guests  |  event language: German]

29 November 2018  |  5:00 p.m.  |  Stuttgart

The Role of the Car in Future Mobility Concepts

The Württemberg Automobile Club has been established by the automobile pioneers Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach and Robert Bosch in 1898. Following the traces of these innovative minds the Automotive Simulation Center Stuttgart exclusively invites their members to the 2nd Fireside Talk.

The car is changing radically: from the traditional means of transport to the data center on wheels. Particularly in the area of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automated driving and infotainment, pressure is increasing on Tier-1 suppliers of electronic components and systems, which have traditionally controlled significant parts of the value chain. Electromobility still harbors significant uncertainties and thus risks for the automotive industry. The collection, analysis and transmission of data obtained during the drive could become an additional source of revenue for car manufacturer. In addition, new usage models such as car-sharing are changing the market. In order to master all these challenges, new forms of cooperation as well as lean and flexible decision and development processes are necessary. Computer Aided Engineering is the lighthouse of digital transformation. Discuss with experts from various fields which contribution the simulation can make in the transformation and how simulation processes have to be adapted.
